This is my newest harmonica, and I must say that this is great opton for players who find the front edge of the reed plates uncomfortable. Because of the cover design, the reed plates are reinforced with 2 additional (smaller) screws in the front of the comb. I didn't realize that I would like these wooden covers so much!
Hi Todd, I fist saw Dortel harmonicas last year on a french harmonica forum that I sometimes visit. I always found them really gorgeous but was wondering how well they played and wished a great player would review them. Now the real problem is I don't have money for one.
Your playing is fantastic. I'm listening to the video for a third time just to hear you play. Amazing grace sent chills down my spine.
a really great way to start my day. Thank you very much.

@Blues13 - Thanks... the harp is great. I did some work on the overdraws to get the squeals out, but this is partly because I told Christophe not to worry much about the reedwork on mine, because I wanted to tweak on it myself for my style. The great thing about these harps is their sheer beauty. And you can replace reed plates if you wish, because it's a standard fit for Marine Band Deluxe or Crossover plates.
@Frank - Thanks man. you should post more of your playing more often. I like your sound.
Glad for Christophe that he has your support. He is a courageous and passionate guy. Something to add to Todd's presentation: there are also Dortel customized combs only (so far: just on Hohner's base).
HA!!!! I watched that bobber...and watched...and watched...and watched...and FINALLY a bite. Now, hand me those pliers, and let me pull that hook out of your lip.
