I have discovered that Hohner MS coverplates will fit Lee Oscars when put on an aftermarket comb. What are some other mixing and matching possibilties of different brands and models of coverplates? Hohner has gone insane with their price of coverplates and other parts. I have a bunch of older Lee Oscars and their earlier models had very small openings on the back of the covers. They have opened them up over the years. I thought I might replace the ones with the small openings and discovered that MS covers fits but are now very expensive.

I put SP20 cover plates on a Turboharp BX (in D) - which, by the way, is the easiest bending harp I have. I couldn't get used to the Turbolid shape - although it did add some nice tones and resonance - so I looked for covers that would fit right and came up with SP20s. Now I have a very tight and responsive harp. By the way, Greg Jones - 16:23 Custom Harmonicas - from this forum was kind enough to send me (free of charge) some covers as I didn't have any spares to use.

Delta Frost cover plates will fit an SP20 with slight hole modification to the holes on the plates. Soundwise noticed little difference but the old SP20 plates were well worn and didn't slide too easily over the lips.

MB's can be drilled for SP20's. I suspect some Herings might be swappable too. I think someone was saying Johnson covers worked on SP20's, but don't quote me on that.
