Has anyone heard when Brandon Bailey's playing on the David Letterman Show is going to air? I would really like to catch this show!

I don't think things ended up working out with the show, although Brandon will be able to give a more informative update. But Brandon's trip to NYC has ended up pairing him with quite an array of NYC blues talent.

Great for Brandon! Too bad for Letterman, he missed out!
Thanks for the update, I would have been watching for weeks and I don't usually watch Letterman.

that is to bad. I was scheduled to be on letterman and they nixed it at the last minute. I got a generic letter in the mail just before it was to happen. They didn't have the class to do a phone call or I should say they were too busy to make one. I keep it on my wall as a reminder to how the entertainment business operates. The entertainment world if full of people that change directions in the last minute and when they do, they drop you like cat does after intensely playing with a mouse after it dies. It hurts to get led on that way but after a multitude of these things you learn to just take it in stride and if it happens great and if not you still wake up the next morning. The good news is some people are interested in what Brandon is doing. In the long run it will pan out. Walter

Thanks for the post Mr. Tore. I originally came to NY to do a small segment on the Late Show but after I got here the show writer that pitched my appearance would not answer my calls. All in all this has been a very rewarding trip. I'm about to head out to do a local show called Ginger NewYork. Should be fun.

Hi Brandon: You sound like a level headed guy and light years ahead of me at your age with that. I know that not answering the phone routine well. I have learned if they want you they can find you. Hounding people is a dead end street. Luckily I didn't go to NYC and get the no. I grew up there (seen it done it) and to go up there and get canceled would have pissed me off big time. I got the letter in Austin. The NYC area is full of jive people in the entertainment business like all the major music cities and one is blessed if they hook up with the good ones first time out. I think you are doing a great job at doing life and your trip has worked out well. Keep it up! Walter (no Mr. Tore please but I understand it. use to call the older blues guys by mister when I first met them.) Am I getting older??? Man does life go fast!

A friend of mine was supposed to have played on Letterman last summer. It turned into a nightmare for him. The rep from the show didn't answer any calls when he got there, and his bandmate who was to have played with him got put on the wrong train and wound up somewhere in Pennsylvania. Seems to me that Letterman's got some cleaning house to do on his staff.

I caught the show at Terra Blues with Blind Boy Paxton. It was fantastic! Brandon, it was very nice to meet you after your set. Best of luck to you and don't let what happened with Letterman get you down.

Hi Brandon,

I meant to post something when I saw the news come out about your NYC trip. It was great to meet you at HCH, and you are a fantastic teacher. Thanks for sharing not just your talents while playing, but also being willing to show us how you do the amazing things you do.

I work in the media industry and have for many (many) years. Don't take the fact that the bozos do not call personally (which it does not sound as if you are doing). It is all about them. There are many great people in the media business, but you have to look for them. Many others, especially those who are successful have some pretty messed up lives and unacceptable personal behaviors. They act that way because they can get away with it, but when you look at their real lives, it is absolutely nothing we would want to be a part of.

Just keep on doin' what you do. You are fantastic at it, and you are only going to get better. Have fun, work hard, and when you do meet some of the good media people, enjoy the experience. They are hard to come by.

Best wishes,
Brad
