He's got some nice tone.

I have used socks and towels on many occasions. Also something like a LLF doesn't sound through the house very well - I can play it in the living room and not wake the kids.

@David, yeah, I'm getting into the low harps. Not so bad for my wife's tinnniiitus either. She hates the squeaky end stuff. Well, looks like the guy in the vid's still married so the towel must be working...

Just put Piedmont covers on your Sp20. It will kill the volume. :)

There has to be a way to make a plastic covered harp that sounds good. They are sooooo comfortable on the lips compared to anything else.

@Nate. Why don't you invent some? Make gazillions... Silicon or teflon coating to make 'em slip better. (I know, poisonous). Or a custom "mute" or a combo.

I've thought about seeing if a metal lining on the inside would help. It seems someone with an injection molder could put the metal in place and then mold around it, leaving it exposed on the inside section. I'm not sure how much of the Piedmont's quietness is the plastic and how much is just that they are pretty closed back. I've wondered if dimpling the cover would help. Lipodynamic shape? I suppose I could just suck on a clean golf ball to see if that technique has any merit!
