I think I know the answer to this already but I'm having trouble finding a definitive answer...

Peavey tubes are Chinese made and rebadged, no?

As I understand it Peavey re-brands JJ tubes which are Slovakian. There is an "s" designation somewhere on the tube or the box to indicate "Slovakia". Not a bad tube particularly but not great either. If a tube is not NOS Made in USA or GB you can pretty much take it to the bank they are either Eastern European or Chinese.

One of the reasons the old Soviet block countries became the primary suppliers of vacuum tube was due to tubes for their military's outdated equipment. I wouldn't be surprised if it was the same initially for China, though the Chinese just seemed to crank out anything anybody wants to buy as long as they don't care about quality at all.
