So a few minutes ago I brought 4 sp20's in cases into the bathroom with me as I love the acoustics while playing in there.
Well I place the harps in cases on the sink counter and went to grab a case and it fell off and into the toilet case opened and harp slid to the point where I could hardly see it.
So I thought do I put my hand in there and try to get it or flush it and hope it does not clog the pipes.. LOL
No F'ing way I was going to flush it...

Yes Hemi
A few months ago, I dropped a Manji in the bowl. Thought "Shit!" Then "That's 60 bucks..." Then "10-second rule". Grabbed it. Rinsed and washed my hand and the harp. Cycled the harp through three sessions with the Steradent. Plus drying in the sun. Plays OK now. No sign of physical illness.
I've had kids so much less squeamish than I used to be...
Legal disclaimer: Don't try this at home.

This is why, when you have that inevitable argument with the women in your life the answer is always 'toilet seat down, and lid down too'.
(On public toilets with no lid the answer is always seat up, no matter who sat there last because there will always be people who pee without lifting the seat and if you leave it in the up position there is the greatest chance that the seat will already be out of the way so the seat doesn't get peed on. Ideally any unisex public toilet would have the seat spring loaded so you had to put weight on it for it to be in the down position. Sure, a few small children might get flung naked across the bathroom, peeing and pooping in a disgusting arc all the way, but you can't make an omelet without flinging a few eggs (or something like that!))
Note to self- Don't buy any harmonicas off eBay.

•Did you find that your playing became "crappy" afterwards??
•Talk about a real "sh***y" situation!!
• You just gave a new meaning to the expression, "s**t happens"!
(I know these are lame, but I couldn't resist-lol!!)

It's all right CarlA. I knew you were taking the piss. I don't think it's what Joe Filisko meant by "letting the dirt in" though..

Inspiring... Lyrics and music for "Pee-wee Blues" or "The John Flush Blues" or "Harp angler Blues". Now if someone asks about the titles, you'll feel a bit lonely, but could reply: sorry, my earpipes are clogged.
ok, ok...

Maybe when they told you to clean your harp with toilet water, they weren't really plain?
"Sure, a few small children might get flung naked across the bathroom..." A kind of toilet kick? What about stirrups?

How did the urine soaking affect the tone? Maybe this will become the latest rage. ;) ---------- David Elk River Harmonicas

I once dropped my specs in the dunny just as I hit the flush button. No time for hesitation, I just reached in and grabbed em as they were taking the bend. That was a developmental moment, pre-kids. I agree, post kids there is more opportunity for cognitive therapy to overcome squeamish tendency. Most of the bacteria in your personal crapper came out of your guts. ----------

Obviously Neil Young never thought of this as he'd soak his harps during a show.

Yes Dave-urine will help your tone, and for a nominal fee of 5$ a harp, I will custom treat your harmonicas for you. Never again will anyone be able to say you have 'piss-poor tone'... Oh, make that 6$ a harp if you would like me to eat asparagus first.
