I know there are a few forum members who live in the Brighton area. I'm going to be down there this weekend with the missus and wondered if there are any places you would recommend? Jams etc would be great but anywhere to listen to some good music is what I'm after. Any ideas?

I'm over in Eastbourne amd there's not much here. I'm out of touch with what's on in Brighton Jam wise but James (Shoulders) will probably be able to chip in here as he lives in Brighton. I'll look into it anyhow in the meantime and see if I can find some recommendations.

Have fun!

There is a long established live music pub in Brighton called The Ranelagh, here is the LINK

They have got a guy on Firday night called Mike Newsham. No music on Saturday night unfortunately - The barmaid assures me she is the main attraction on Saturday night though :o)

Here is a vid. Not of her, but Mike.

On Sunday Kent Duchaine is playing a blues set 8-30pm on. Here is a vid and there are there others on Youtube to check out to see if he's your cuppa tea..

Thanks Kieron, I think I've seen that pub on the Harp Surgery site. We'll definetly give it a shot on sunday, we don't get down there till saturday morning.
Kent sounds pretty cool.

Hi Oisin,

Well bumped. I missed this first time.

I'm running out of the door so have only found one link for a blues jam on sunday.

http://www.barklikeadog.co.uk/

I'm not sure if this is any good but i'm having to downsize my life in general as i'm moving my little training business home. With this in mind i have a couple of boxes of harp related stuff; NHL magazines, loads of books; blues related, autobiographies, Charlie Musslewhite harp book, harps, neck wrack...other bits and bobs.

If you are interested please say and you could pop in and pick the lot up - ha - no stress, i just thought i would mention it.

REgards

James

Hi James, wow that would be great. We are in Eastbourne on saturday and in Brighton on sunday. Is there some way we could meet up? The missus wants to go see the Pavillion in the afternoon but any other time I'm free.

Hi Oisin,

Sorry for the delay in replying to you.

Yes Sunday would be great - i'm not sure what our plans are but i'm confident we could meet.

My mobile number is 07814485092

Give me a call on sunday - if the weather is good we will probably be at our allotment which is near the house up by the racecourse in Brighton - if you dont have a car i can happily pop over to where you are and drop the boxes (two Pampers boxes!) of blues and harp 'stuff'. Its includes a few excellent books on general blues as well as harp.

I look forward to meeting with you,

Have a good day in Eastbourne.

Regards

James

No worries James...I'll give you a ring on Sunday. We have a car so should be no problems getting to you. Thanks again.
