I'm an amateur player and for a pass-time I dabble with havin fun with the harp. I find a lot of joy in this hobby and enjoy sharing some of the stuff I do, Thanks for tuning in....
tell the bass player not to be so busy:) unless it's the guitar players low strings booming:) hard to tell on computers. ---------- MP affordable reed replacement and repairs.
"making the world a better place, one harmonica at a time"
Great playing and you swing it hard.I personally think that you put a little bit more energy in the song than the original but sounds great. Good job

Thanks everyone for listening and leaving such encouraging comments...I feel like I could of swung harder and used more dynamics "playing softer" on certain phrases etc...My wife is happy I finally put this up, so she doesn't have to hear it played 5 times in a row again...Love this song, it actually is difficult to play this tune the same every time, each time I play it there is a part of it that I'll play differently.
@ Tiandrézio...I loved your harpin and rendition, thanks for puttin it up!
But it's not modern. Sorry, just had to. You've taken this Juke topic pretty darn serious -I do understand. I fall in to the traditional camp myself, but I'm a mercenary spy for the modern too. Great playing (although, I would really like to see you add some of it, any of it, without the backing track.) .

Good one Frank. I haven't taken the time to really study beyond the head of juke, although yesterday I caught myself studying the second and third chorus. At which point I appreciated somewhat more the time it would take to bring it to such a standard as you present here. @Laurent: shoblues.com
@Frank. Only five times? That's quick. My wife would be very grateful if she only had to hear a song five times. Fifty or a hundred is more like it in my case, but I'm a slow learner.
@Littoral...You want to hear it done solo, only harp - is that correct?
Bee...You know the "head" for me was the hardest to make an intimate connection with, it always felt kinda blah when I played it.
Wailer and laurent -- I've lost track at how many times I've played "juke", I never tire of it....Usually I wait till she is at work to mess with the harp amplified, it can be a little much - but she did get a good dose of juke recently, she can practically hum the entire song now, hahahaha....
You can be proud, I think. Juke is one of the top harp instrumentals of all times, at least alledgedly. Up to now my favorite from LW however is "my babe", but it's not an instrumental and it's a shame, 'cause the background accompaniment is outstanding as well as the harp solo and a hell of a good rhythm. Thanks for the link!
MP...The Bt probably sounds busier then it should because to use it I had to make the "Bt" to around 140ish bpm before I could use to record with.
Laurent...I had a student years ago who wanted to learn that solo in "my babe"... and breaking that song down and just loving how Walter put it together. It's a ballsy solo and I agree one of his greatest!
Another thing I love about taking the time to become intimate with another players work is it's a whole different kind of "rush" I get as opposed to playing my own original creations.
Once I'm able to crack the code "or the spirit" of the piece - I can almost feel and internalize that this is what the originator must of felt like when performing the song.
