My 7-year old has been playing for 3 years now. He can bend quite well and can follow 12-bar changes live. The other morning i played him Special 20 from Blues Harp by JJ Milteau. I left the room and he started jamming to it and realized he was basically playing it. So I played it for him again and recorded it.

The original runs for a minute followed by him. This is a really high level of difficulty and a lot to take in for a first/second listen. You can hear him struggling with the techniques but he has the song running in his little head.

He used a Seydel Big Six six-hole in C.

This doesn't show of his technique...for that I have one he did the day after seeing Herbie Hancock live last week.

If he's enjoying it and keeps going, he'll have great facility pretty soon. Sounds like your giving him excellent exposure to some really good live music, too!
