Fun Time messin around with a Big Walter's tune "In The Mood" Loads of mistakes and stinker notes plus played way to hard - I got a ways to go with getting this tune down - I used ShoBlues "Juke" back track for this song...BTW...This song must not be to popular among players, I can't really find any Pros doing this tune on the net?

Thanks for watching Gents - that's down in the "Centipide Saloon" My little get away where I have fun playing and fixin harps...I actually hooked up a couple of 50 ft. cords attached to my computer upstairs in the bedroom one to mic my amp and one for the webcam. It worked - though I think the lantency problems are worse because of the long cables...

"Centipide Saloon" Yeah I was going to ask if they were harps lined up on the shelf behind you.

Yep, and 80% of em are in need of some sort of repair, either re-tuning or reed replacement. I try to keep 5 of each key usable at any given time so I can rotate them and not wear them out as fast. I'm due to get back to the bench and start bringing them back to life...

Great stuff, Frank. I think Big Walter's often unfairly called predictable (maybe because he's always mentioned alongside Little Walter, which I guess is fair enough if you're comparing them). I definitely don't find his playing predictable. Also I think he's got more rhythmic variety than he gets credit for.

Thanks Jodan - he may be predictable to the experts but trying to learn his tunes keeps me constantly enthralled with his technique and use of colors and shadings, dynamics and phrasing - these things are very, very difficult to emulate at least for me...

Guys like Big Walter, Bill Clarke etc. they can take a hand full of notes and make it sound like a symphony friggin orchestra. It's always a humbling experience learning a song from the Masters of the blues harp - they truly are ONE IN MILLION talents and can make it seem so easy till you try to do it, then it's oh shit - back to school...

Thank you MP...It was Big walters phrasing in that song along with his diverse tones that hypnotised me and persuaded me to try and figure it out...

Rotating harps is the way go :)

Appreciate that JT...your the 2nd one to mention "swinging" and even though my body was movin, I feel like I was playin kinda stiff, like I did'nt really let the groove free. I'm gunna keep at it though :)
