For those of you who've been following, 2 Wednesdays ago I slipped a harmonica into my pants pocket. The next day I slipped those pants into the washing machine, then the dryer. The following day, (1 day is the usual period of mourning for a favorite harmonica) I ordered from the oft praised Rockin' Rons. He must have lost a harmonica he loved at some point because he handled my call with care. He didn't have the missing screws I needed without buying new cover plates, Lee Oskar doesn't provide them individually (my coverplates were bent but not beyond salvage). The same went for the single reed I would need if I were to attack reed replacement (which I was really hesitant to try anyway.) So I ordered a new set of reed plates and a new cover. He through in some freebies too, enough in fact to repair some superficial damage to one of my other harps!
So, after hearing all the amazing reports of how fast he ships, I put down the phone and ran to the post office. I was kind of hoping to watch the teleporter energize. Of course, it wasn't there. I'd just ordered 15 minutes before. It was late Friday. I knew it would take a couple days, and Sunday was a day off. Starting Monday I checked the post office with gleeful anticipation. I know Monday was wildly optimistic for my post office. I've had mail from my next door neighbor arrive a week later. I completely forgot Monday was holiday. I managed to notice no vehicles were in the parking lot before anyone noticed I was about to turn into a closed post office. We've all done it. We've all seen other people do it. We all laugh at them. But, the next Saturday and still no notice in my box that I had a package? I mean that's perfectly reasonable for shipping something across the country, but not what I'd dared to dream. So I went up to my post office counter and asked.
It seems it arrived early Tuesday. My wonderful post office never put the notice in my box. So, for those of you keeping score...
I ordered from Rockin Rons late Friday afternoon. He shipped it that day from the opposite coast. Saturday. Sunday the post office was closed. Monday the post office was closed. Tuesday it arrived. (The post office, on the other hand, got it on Tuesday and only actually handed it to me Saturday, but I've lived here for years. I should have been asking at the desk every day. I know my post office is screwed up.)
Rockin Ron, you rock! The only thing I might suggest... you sent me a Lee Oskar bumper sticker. Fair enough. They are my main brand. What I really would have liked though was a Rockin Rons bumper sticker! You gave me a great price and a great turnaround time. You are now my official harmonica supplier. :)

My father passed away last Aug at 91 yrs old. The last 5 months he was at a nursing home near my home. He had pretty much forgotten every thing except how to play the harmonica. It brought him great joy and he was the rock star of the home. One thing he could not remember was to remove his harp from his shirt pocket when he went to bed. Despite venting my frustration at the staff, harps went through the wash/dry cycle all too often. Rockin Ron kept us in business with new harps and replacement parts. I live in Missouri and it never took more than two days.

I wonder how he does it. I mean, I send things from Michigan via Priority Mail, and they take longer to traverse even half the country. No matter. The point is he seems to do it regularly. I will have to check out his site, solely on the strength of the recommendations from this forum.

Ron's a great guy. He won't hesitate to call you if there's the slightest question about your order. He wants to make sure you get what you want. ---------- Wisdom does not always come with old age. Sometimes old age arrives alone.

I learned about Rockinron's on this forum, and have made him my harmonica supplier. He provides the best service, competitive pricing, and deals, by far, of anyone I've used in the last dozen years. Can't help but praise the guy!

He's the best. I'm a mailman, 24 years now, and I'm amazed at how fast he ships. Nacoran, you should complain to the P.O. supervisor, no notice left, your carrier failed you not the post office.

In Australia, it seems, we have a guy every bit as good as Rockin' Ron as far as service and range and general nice bloke-ness is concerned, his name is Dane and his outfit is called Mandoharp. I've had stuff from him overnight and, with Austr. Post that is damned good!
