I remember my Star Wars figures as a kid. I sold them for peanuts - now they change hands for crazy money.
When Phantom Menace came out my mate spent a fortune on the new toys - I tried to stop him him, but he was convinced they would gain as much in value as the 70s toys. They are collectable, but nowhere near the same.
I've no doubt this will be an investment for a collector, but not in the same way as the Hohner Beatles harp.
If you like shiny things, and like to keep them shiny it's for you.
I heard about it yesterday, and it was all I could do to let it be. I've had many harmonicas in my life... hmm, I'm just not in the mood to make more puns. I will mention though include this link for anyone who wants to got crazy with it:
I do notice that they had a song, one that I'm not familiar with actually, called 'Lend me your comb' which would seem to be perfect for the topic. :)
Greyowl, I've heard various interpretations of the lyrics, including some in which the Norwegian Wood is actually wood, but I've heard other ideas, and I'm just going to say, I hope the comb isn't made out of that!
This is the worst idea I have ever seen. It is a MS series harp, the only difference is a clear comb (which I do like). If you know anything about the MS series you know that any color rubs off after a little use. They call it Imagine (no harp in the song), The website for hohner makes reference to Love me do (Chromatic was used). I thought everyone would buy one and it wouldnt be collectable. Now that I think of it, I might buy one because this is such a horrible idea that nobody will buy one and it might be worth something someday.
You have to love the price too. $80 - $100 for a MS series harp with a fancy paint job.
I am so sick of Hohners PT Barnum philosophy. If they really wanted to make a true tribute hapr, then they should make something new, not just paint an old style harp. making it a chromatice would be an even better idea but then that would raise the price and kill their profit margin.
