Dude, you keep evolving! Sounds great and it's totally yours.
I downloaded "Puddnhead Wilson" by Mark Twain for free on Google and the first essay in it is about how Mark Twain defines American humor, and he goes on to say that it is all in how they tell a story, and it reminded me of you.
Hey whats up Shanester,How you been?Ive been doing some work when I can and woodshedding the rest the time,Glad you like the new stuff,Havent had a eletric in 15 years just played acoustic,so Im stoked playing guitar again, still trying to get the feel of a eletric,Well the street team we meet for a few beers and a smoke, then we holler at the ladies untill they get to mad at us, then we stumble in for a set or two down at one of the lake bars down here, its all good;-),You been jamming much? ---------- Hobostubs
I haven't been jamming since I've been working in Dallas.
I still woodshed at night as well as during the day while I'm driving. I keep practicing. When I can pull a trailer while rolling a cigarette, texting and playing harp, I know I will have gotten somewhere!
In the meantime I keep practicing.
I did actually go to my first jam since I've been here in Fort Worth a couple of nights ago. It went really well...they let me stay on stage most of the night and I sang and led the band for the first time (at a blues jam). They wanted me to sing more but the only song I could remember most of the lyrics to was "help me".
I got the bug though now! Working on my best Casper-the-friendly-ghost white boy blues voice, so I can lead the band when I jam! ---------- Shane,
thats cool.I used to have a blues cheet sheet,It was a download file that had lyricks to the most popular blues songs,Ill have to see ,If I can find it and post a link.I havent jammed at all except for around the house, and then it was just aalittle because of work, but I did get some equipment, and been study at guitartricks.com,I studied there for a year a fews years back its a nice site for guitar,I need to start jammiing more, everyone around here, is getting sighned or going on a tour of some sorts im getting jealous.;-)Its nice to hear from you ,Ill see if I can remeber where I found that blues cheet book.and post it, ---------- Hobostubs
No problem Shanster,I saw this about 2 years ago,But Hadnt really used it,But when you mentioned trying to remember some standards I thought Hey this might be able to help ya,peace ;-) ---------- Hobostubs

that sounds really cool,Ive never met another harmonica player befor(well one time i met one but i dont know how he played) or heard one live,I need to check it out,Ill do my best to get there, cause it sounds great
That harp summit sounds super cool Capn Ken, I wish I could go but I have to go to Austin and handle some things that weekend.
You should absolutely figure out how to go Hobo. You might get more out of that than a piece of gear could give you. Other people play a big part in the music game, and your liable to meet some there!
Do you guys do anything else in Tulsa? I grew up in Tulsa and make it back several times a year. I'm kicking myself that I had not planned on a trip around this summit. It looks like a blast! I've been to the Jazz hall of fame a couple of times recently and it is a cool spot. I got to go through all of the records in the library they have there - it is very neat.
Hobostubs - you should go! You would have a blast. ---------- Danny
Hobostubs--you should really try to get there it is an unbelievable experience. There are people of all skill levels there and the pros are just as friendly as can be, last year I didnt get there untill @ 2:00 and everyone was in a class with Mr Microphone so I went into the classroom where RJ Mischo was going to speak next. he came in it was just the two of us talkin harp for 5 min. then Bobby Green Shoes Parker came in and they sat there and he helped RJ write a song. I couldnt believe my luck. That was all before the class.I'll never miss another one. shanester--Its a shame you cant make it, it's well worth it. Thanks for the listen, that recording was done last summer about 2 months after we had been together, we have gotten much better but havent recorded anything in months. KingoBad-We haven't played in Tulsa yet, we have been staying busy in OKC but at some point we will. Maybe we can all meet at SPAH in Dallas this summer. ---------- http://www.reverbnation.com/#!/mudflapnicholsandthetwistedspokes
CapnKen that was some cool blues,I became a fan and am recomending you on my page,I hope to see you at the harmonica thing this weekend,Ill try to get there,Hey sence you live in OKC do you Know a bass player named Mike Bumbalo? ---------- Hobostubs
Hobostubs-- Thanks man i appreciate that. I don't know Mike but i checked on FB and saw he is friends with a drummer friend of mine. We have a gig friday night but I'll be going up to Tulsa as soon as I wake up Sat. which aint going to be early but I'll get there. ---------- http://www.reverbnation.com/#!/mudflapnicholsandthetwistedspokes
Yea mike is a cool bass player up there,he knows some cool people his Dad was in the business years ago befor he passed,And Mike just introduced the musicians around here to Rocky Frisco,a very well known and award winning Piano player,Mr frisco has been setting in with some of the bands, around here,I havent got a chance to meet him but he was at my best friends house the other day,So Im hoping to get a chance to, at least here him play,From what i understand he can play anything on the piano and is Oklahoma music hall of fame for blues and country,And Mike is a very good Bass player himself,I hope to be at the harp show, just got layed off and my car payments due so Ill have to arrange some things.
