Parents, don't let your children play in old refrigerators or hide in the dryer. Especially not the dryer. I've had a loss in my harmonica family today. She was my sweet little G. Some of her holes still sound, but the doctors pronounced her, tonight at 8:30 PM. It turns out you can kill a Lee Oskar. It just takes a dry cycle to do it.

(I found both of her bolts embeded in the lint in the lint trap, and one of the screws loose in the basin. The other screw was not recovered... and actually, I promptly lost the one bolt somewhere on the rug as soon as I got it back into the apartment and the one bolt fell into my keyboard and won't shake out. I may have to send in a rescue party.)

I think if the cover hadn't come loose it would have survived. With a little gapping everything but the 6 draw sounds alright. Does anyone know if any other reeds will fit a L.O.? I might have some donor harps around.

I sympathise. I had a nasty incident with a harp a couple of weeks ago. I was getting out of my car at work and I must have dropped a harp on the ground. At the end of the day, I drove home and couldn't find it anywhere. The next morning I found it where I'd parked the day before, with a crushed cover plate, embedded in the dirt in a thick tyre track - so someone had obviously parked on it! Plus it had been rained on all night. I cleaned it up and it still plays, but it looks a lot worse for wear. My only damn Crossover too!
