And, I missed it. So allow me a bit of nostalgia. Some of my old friends still torture me about it.

It was in the 50's & we used to go to a Friday night dance in a church hall where the music was a great live traditional jazz (Dixieland) band. We walked everywhere as none of us had cars & although we were under 'strict' curfews from our folks it was often the wee small hours before we arrived home.

This particular night I went straight home after the dance.

A few miles away was another church hall which was a late night mecca for musicians. When their normal gig was over they went there to jam. My friends all went along to have a listen. It was free entry.

In Australia at the time was Louis (Satchmo) Armstrong who after his formal show arrived at the church hall to jam. They tell me Louis played until dawn.

My friends to this day never stop raving about this night.

Well, that beats my best 'nearly'. I had a chance to see Paula Poundstone for free and something came up that made me miss the show. Not quite Satchmo (although I was a fan of her comedy stylings).
