Theresa's closed in the mid 80's after she relocated to 43rd street. Her landlord wouldn't renew the lease at her original location.

Legends is downtown, not on the South side.

What clubs are closing?

When was that interview written? Clubs and bars have been closing everywhere. The two drink DUI has had a lot to do with it. The number of clubs and bars have been decreasing for the past 20 years. Its not just blues clubs.

I read an interesting article in the NY Times about the the collapsing nightlife up in my neck of the woods (Albany, NY). It seems the bars had survived the raising of the drinking age and stricter DUI/DWI laws but they were being killed off by another piece of legislation...

It seems their business was suffering because New York State had passed a law limiting gifts from lobbyists to state legislators. LOL!!! True story.
