I am currently customising a couple of Marine Band harps. I have ordered combs from the States, but need a supply of cover plate bolts. I like the Suzuki type. Does anyone know of a source in the UK? As I plan on doing more of this in the future any contacts for customising parts in the UK would be appreciated.

Thanks Martin

suzuki coverplate bolts are very similar to the seydel ones with the suzukis being just slightley fatter screw heads. you can order them directly from seydel but be aware the shipping will cost more than the parts. I can get you some when i place my next order if you like. email me at slim@slimscustomcases.com if you have not already sourced some.

I just use regular stainless steel nuts & bolts for the cover plates when rebuilding marine bands.
I get mine from an ebay seller called 'boltmeup':

And the corresponding nuts:

But if you've got your heart set on the Suzuki screws, my fellow Slim up there can help you out. : )

I use Hohner MS series cover plate bolts on my Marine Bands, which I order straight from Hohner. I also order other parts from them as well so the shipping doesn't work out as bad. Might be a bit much just for the bolts.

You can find their online shop here: http://www.hohner-cshop.eu/en/home/

Sorry another quick question. Do you use M2 bolts inside the harp to fasten the reed plates to the comb or do you use something smaller? If its different where do you get them from. Thanks again for your help.

I used to buy my parts form here (http://www.harponline.de/) but they have closed down. They used to sell some great M2 bolts with allen key sockets. I never found anywhere else that sells them.

I now use the reed plate screws from Marine Band Deluxe, which I also order from Hohner.

I can get M2 bolts with Allan key heads from my local model shop (model railways, remote control cars etc...)

Anything smaller I've had to get online.

I've used M1.6 for reedplates.

The question is: what size DIAMETER are the reed plate screws, are they M2 the same as the cover plate or are they smaller? Thanks

In the UK for stainless allen key headed bolts check this link on eBay

smaller, as a general rule- than cover plate screws. 080 is a good choice.
