Would apprecaiate any feedback (good or bad) on my latest Harmonica Video. It's the first one I've done amplified but it's just a cheap small amp and microphone. I wish I could get a better sound.
I would suggest TBing that tune Nick - it will let you "breathe through" the song as well as hit all the important subtleties that make the song come ALIVE...Good effort though, nice tone! I love that song, you inspired me to put up a version, I'll add it to this thread, thanks for sharing :)
Nick I think you sound great, you have nice personal tone and it's coming through even with the limitations of the gear. The first thing that jumps out at me is you're playing on the beat. Try to absorb some of LW's swing, and maybe listen to some big band music.
The second thing would be to work on dynamics. Try punching the front of your notes and backing off slightly once they're singing, like picking a guitar string. Another way to say it would be punctuating the notes instead of yelling them. ---------- Spiers Harmonicas
hey nick, good job! i notice that you know almost exactly what you are doing and anticipate ahead of time what is comming next as far as chord changes, the drum break, etc.
no need for me to repeat the advice so far. if you keep at it this song will be like falling off a log for you. ----------

MN, Nicely done! I like everything about it. If you can borrow or pick up an inexpensive delay pedal, try playing that tune with the delay. I have a DeltaLab Digital Delay and I use it with just a small amount of delay for a really nice effect. Just a suggestion, you sound great without a delay, but try one if you can, I think you'll see waht I mean.
After three years of playing it´s bloody great. "Off the wall" is to my mind Walter´s greatest instrumental, nicely swinging w/ some lusicious phrasing and a gorgeous sound -- a hard one to replicate.
You have some hole 3 bends that are a bit off; and, as Harpwrench says, the swinging is not really there; also -- but it´s hard to say since you´re using rather primitive gear -- I think you could work on a slightly deeper tone. (Easy to say, I know.) All in all, had I played like that after three years I´d been one happy kid. /Martin
Since your Tbing Nick it's only matter of time that you'll begin adding into your playing the dynamics available to you when using that embrochure. And for 3 years of playing harmonica your well on your way to figuring this crazy instrument out!
