Last night I had an outdoor duo gig. We were playing as part of a very packed lineup. Each act just did 15-20 minutes. I brought along my first-generation Holmes Harp Commander. I ran my bullet into that, and then ran a 1/4" line to the board. Total set-up time was just three minutes or so. The "sound check" was a couple toots, then we kicked off the first tune. Breakdown was similarly quick and easy. I was really happy with the tone and response. I haven't used the HC in a long time. It recently went back to Ron Holmes HQ for a tune-up and really sounds excellent. Anyway, I was just curious: What's your go-to rig for gigs where you have to travel light, set up and break down quickly, etc.?

Ultimate 57 and a cable.
If I need my looper, I can just set down my pedal board and go. It has a built-in DI for running XLR or 1/4" out. Assuming I get a monitor feed, I can have that set-up and mixed from stage in under a minute.
Honestly, everytime I've gone guerilla, I've just plugged my 57 into one of the chords on a mic stand. ---------- Mike Quicksilver Custom Harmonicas VHT Special 6 Mods

My normal rig is not very complicated. Digitech RP255 with my sm57 straight to the PA. I suppose my quick guerrilla rig would be.. whatever mic is on the stage at the time heh

My guerilla rig used to be my Shaker RetroRocket and my Marshall MG10CD practice amp. Lately though, I haven't had any kind of gig that required a quick setup/teardown rig. If I had to now though, it'd prolly be my 'Zoo Model Two and my Akai DM13. ----------

I have a Roland MicroCube that comes in handy for the seriously stripped down stuff. Used it in a parade this year on a float with my Audix Fireball. It was bluegrass musicians around a single mic, and it worked great. I don't have big amps, but I have a Harp Gear 2 which I use if I think I need a line-out (or I'm not sure), and a Kalamazoo which I also love. Either are light weight enough not to matter, and I often take them both so I have a backup.

Usually just my Audix Fireball V and an XLR cable will work. I bring an impedance converter just in case. Sometimes I use a vocal mic with one of Greg's volume controls. I also have used my Shure 585AV or my Ultimate 57 High Z into an LR Baggs Para Acoustic DI with a delay in the effects loop. This set up has XLR and 1/4" out, and has EQ controls, gain and volume. You can cut problem frequencies, too. I have used this to a PA or an amp. It requires a low output mic, or you will get clipping from the DI, even with gain set low.
I sometimes use the 585AV, which has low output, to my lightweight sit-in rig. I have mentioned it previously. It is an ElectroHarmonix 44 Magnum amplifier the size of a small pedal going into an Eminence 'Lil Buddy. The 44 Magnum is very loud and has smooth distortion when set past 12:00 O'clock. The 'Lil Buddy is a dark toned speaker, which is good with this am. I have successfully used it sitting in with Kilborn Alley without micing the speaker. It is small and light.
For gigs I bring a vintage tube amp... ----------

A couple of harps in pockets is guerilla for me. If I'm bringing gear, afb+ delay, mic and small amp. Oh, and camo facepaint. ---------- 12gagedan's YouTube Channel

"Camo face paint" ????? Nice touch. I'm sans amp at the moment so right now I would have my SM58 into the PA with delay. If it's a spur of the moment guest spot, whatever mic is on stage. ---------- "Keep it in your mouth" - XHarp

either no rig at all or a silvertone 1482 and e-v dynamic or shure cm bullet or crystal mic. usually we do an early opener type set at benefits and jams, maybe 20-30 minutes, so it's pretty easy to get there a bit early and plug in wife's and my matching amps, set 2 chairs, plug in, about 10 minutes setup and 3 takedown. ---------- http://www.reverbnation.com/jawboneandjolene

Ultimate 57 mic into Berringer delay pedal into 5 watt pignose amp line out from pignose to the house PA. pedal & amp run on batteries. Quick and dirty. If It's a clean country band I'm setting in with a stage mic and reverb is all I need.

Modded JT30 to my case/board which contains a Behringer or ART tube preamp, Lone Wolf Harp Attack, Boss Harmonist, MXR 6 band EQ, Rocktron Hush Pedal, Boss DM-2 and Boss DD-6 either strait into the board or through my 69 Fender Champ. I like options!. Set up is 2 mintues or less. Tear down is a little less depending on beveredge intake.

Anyone tried a pig nose lined out to Pa? I'm thinking I might try it with lone wolf delay. I think the pig nose is a bit one dimensional the way some folks push it. but maybe dialed in just to the start of breakup and with delay may have some depth. I have to travel end of next month and won't be practical to ship my amp. Some gigs may have amp available but pot luck. I think I should prepare. Timely discussion for me. I've been amp dependant the last couple years ----------
