I've been seeing a great number of posts lately about the Honeytone. I'm gonna get one myself here pretty soon. But I was wondering if anyone here had tried either of the Danelectro Hodad amps. There was a very positive review on MF from a harp player on the DH-1. Anyone here ever tried them?
That DH1 looks interesting--maybe I'll give one a try if I get to a Guitar Center. I'm still waiting to see if anybody has tried one--and I'd need Isaac's analysis on power and such ;-). . . ----------
there are 2 reviews made by harp players on that dh1. another reviewer says this though- it is a very small amp which sounds good, but it IS just a small amp.
i have had a few small amps although none with as many features. i found them to be uniformly way too hot for most harp mics or even vocal mics like a sm57 or 58.
i do have here at home 2 dano's- a dirty thirty and a nifty fifty. both are ss amps and i actually used the thirty for harp for a short time. the only way i found to do this was to use a lo to hi z transformer and keep the volume way down let alone any of the treb or mids. i also had to drape a small towel over the front to cut some of the sharpness off the tone. i was real glad when we got where we could afford some more gear. ---------- http://www.reverbnation.com/jawboneandjolene
