Anyone have a source for finding out mfg. date codes on Astatic mics? Specifically the 200 model. "B668348" (Maybe that is not a date code) ---------- Go ahead and play the blues if it'll make you happy. -Dan Castellaneta

I don't know about that code. On the end of the mic (the handle part). There should be a metal tag. Is that where you got that from? That is where the date code is. I thought mine only had four numbers?

Yup, it's from the tag at the bottom of the handle. ---------- Go ahead and play the blues if it'll make you happy. -Dan Castellaneta

My wife bought me an astatic velvet voice about fifteen years ago and I found how to read the code then, but can't remember now. I've owned so many mics and amps they all blend together now. I'm pretty sure it is either a 1966 or a 1948. If it has a chrome grill. Its a 66. If it is painted its a 48. OK I'm guessing here, but I'll say it is dark brown with a chrome grill and is a 1966 made on the 48th week of the year.
