The #1 blues album on iTunes right now is LET THEM TALK, the debut album by English actor Hugh Laurie, a.k.a., (Dr.) House on the show by the same name.
Here's an introductory video:
I'm not surprised to hear that the blues have always been his passion; the character he plays on TV is one of the bluesiest guys on appointment-TV. I don't have the album, but I've sampled a few cuts and I'll just say: Well done. I like his approach.
His website is www.hughlaurieblues.com
What I like about him is the sense of irony with which he approaches the whole idea of authenticity--i.e., he doesn't try to claim any. He just says, "I like these songs and I'm going to give them my best shot." I really like the bio that he offers up on his "about" page:

The part about his first piano teacher going "Oh my. Dear no," when she spies "Swanee River" on his music stand is priceless. You'll need to scroll down the bio page a fair bit to reach it. It's worth scrolling.
Anyway, interesting guy, and he's got the #1 blues album on iTunes. Obviously being the Emmy-winning star of a long running medical drama doesn't hurt, but the music is legit.

Love the "House" series, probably thanks to him the music used in the show , features Muddy , Sonny Boy , and every now and than his character plays some blues in the show. ---------- Free video harp tabs and backing tracks
You need to check Hugh Laurie out. He's actually one of the biggest comic geniuses to grace British TV.
Fry and Laurie. Blackadder, The Young Ones. He's been in the best comedy shows of the last 30 years. Far from the dour role he plays in House, he was usually cast as the hapless English fop. A total contrast.
In real life, he is also a manic depressive. When he tried out for House, he was on his arse. Seriously not good. I'm glad he's had the success he's had.
Check out his Wiki page. It recounts a story about how he realised he was ill. Really interesting stuff.

I thoroughly recommend you check out his earlier stuff. The man is a genius and I agree, he's also a superb musician.
