Very cool, and congrats.

I put my baby in a harp rack
So that when she first started to cry
I could hear my baby wail
And it would make me want to die.

Oh my baby got the blues...
She never once has said a word,
But she can talk with her harmonica
So she's pretty undeterred.

When she got big enough
I glued a guitar in her hands.
I never ever see my baby
She's out gigging with the band.

Oh my baby got the blues
She never once has said a word
But she can talk with her guitar
So she's pretty undeterred.

I haven't seen my baby
Goin' on seven years.
When I hear her playing
It always brings this man to tears.

Oh my baby is a blues star.
If you see her let her know
Daddy always wanted the best for her
But there is more to life than the road.

Oh I put my baby in a harp rack.
I taught my baby to play guitar.
Oh, and she don't need her daddy
Now that she's a big blues star.

:)

edit: new verse

I got my baby a stomp box
Oh my baby, she never has had shoes
She can stomp and play and wail
My baby she got the blues.

Yeah, I just wrote it listening to your piece, but kind of loosely. It did sound nice, within the limits of my vocal ability. I probably know a half-dozen singers I see on a weekly basis who could sing it better than me though. :) If you line it up so the rhythm change falls on the 'I haven't seen my baby' stanza it fits pretty well. I'm pretty sure someone else could do a better job of it. Feel free to give it a shot if you'd like. :)

I also was thinking about revising one line...

Oh I put my baby in a harp rack.
I taught my baby to play guitar.
Oh, and she don't need her daddy
(And she just stomps on her daddy's heart.)
Now that she's a big blues star.

And switch the verse I added at the end in order with last verse.

Toxic, I hearby grant you all permissions to use the lyric. My band may record it to a different melody but you can use it however you want. Just post them so I can hear. I'm glad you like it. :)
