What's up, Harp Heads?
Just thought I'd check in. Haven't been around since my initial post earlier this year. Honestly, I felt unwelcome by some, but that's not the reason I vanished. I don't give two cents what anybody thinks about me because I don't play in a band and ain't in the limelight. None of you know me personally and if you did, I'd wager you'd like me, even if I might cut heads in a jam. :D
Brother Adam, I don't know you personally but I love your play, your style, your persona and everything I know about you. I just wanna say that this forum, these boards, need a facelift and that's the reason I haven't been back. It takes a college degree and an act of congress to post a pic or a link and while I know it all cost $$$, I think you (we) can do better. Bear with me, please:
In the orange column on the left, there is no link for donations to help run these boards. Brother Adam, I am sure and without any doubt that many harp heads would be willing to donate to help you upgrade these here boards and bring it out of the stone age. Set up a PayPal donation link and watch it happen if you don't believe me.
Times are tough but most of us can afford a few bucks a month. How many active members do you have? Multiply that by $5.00 a month and think of the possibilities!
That's all, and in the meanwhile, I wouldn't know where and how to donate for the cause right now if my life depended on it.

Brother Tuck, as I understand it a lot of it is stuff we can't do much about. It's the hardwiring of the site. I was actually looking around the other day (looking, not touching) to see if there was a way to add a 'next page' link at the bottom of the page on long threads. There just doesn't seem to be a way to do it. We only get to control a certain part of the page. As for the trouble posting videos and stuff, it's the same situation.
There are some workarounds. You can leave the code you need in your signature so it's easy to get to to cut and paste. The nature of the hosting software is great for setting up a site without a lot of fuss, with good reliability, but it comes at the cost of some of the power tools that would be nice. We are kind of caught in a baby with the bathwater situation though.
That said, once you get the hang of it, it's just a small hassle. I suppose we could put a donate button in the footer. I'm also sorry if you didn't feel welcome. If it's something in particular, we can try to work on it. I'll look into the web issues but I'm not sure if there is much we can do. Good to see you again though. :)
