Just forum-searched this and found mixed reviews from everyone. I myself have the original issue Retro Rocket with the 5/8" screw-on and Amphinol adapter. I used it for a good long while before switching back to my JT30RH. I bascially keep it as a backup mic nowadays, mainly because I've gotten accustomed to dynamic tone instead of crystal. Not to mention crystal is more delicate and vulnerable to getting damaged in whatever way.

I've never gotten up the nerve to take mine apart to look at it, but I was wondering if anyone else had. I wrote Shaker not long ago to ask them about the crystal elements they've been using because they're so tiny. They balked at telling me where they got them from, but did say they got a large number of them to get a good deal.

Anyone opened one and gotten a look at the element? Where does it look like it might have come from? I'm gathering ideas for building an iMic, and I wanna know if these little crystals might be an option for me.
