Okay, so I just got my Kalamazoo Model 2. (Huge thanks to Greg for his skills with these suckers.) I'm liking the depth of tremolo circuit as of right now. But should I want to change it, is there another tube I can put in the slot that'll deepen or shallow it besides your typical 12AX7?

If you install a different value tube the tremolo circuit may cease to work. Try a different tube -- such as a 5751 -- and see.

The tremelo circuit in the Kalamazoo is VERY dependent on a match between the tremelo tube and the preamp tube. I've tried other tubes - the circuit just stops working. You can change the DEPTH of the tremelo by changing the C5 capacitor - it is normally 10uFd. Double it to 20uFd and the tremelo will be deeper. Cut it to 5uFd and it will be less pronounced. See http://www.rru.com/~meo/Guitar/Amps/Kalamazoo/M2/schem.html for the schematic.

you could try different brand 12ax7's that can make a pretty big difference.... sometimes, in some amps, the old expensive nos tubes don't sound as good as the cheapies...

This amp still has its original Raytheons in it. It's the only amp I've ever heard with that brand.
