Where's your favourite spot for getting natural reverb and good acoustics? My previous house had a small two piece bathroom on the main floor taht sounded real good. As a bonus there was always a place to sit. The garage was also good and the sound really carried in the cold air of Canadian winters. Too cold to stay there for long periods however.
Surprisingly I've never enjoyed the sound of my harps in the car. I would have thought all that glass would make for some nice reverb but I always sound thin when playing there.
when I was starting out playing I found lots of abandonned buildings in Newark NJ. These were ones that were ruined during the riots in the late 60's. I found each stairway had its own reverb characteristics. Depending on where you set up in them made reverb changes as well. I loved those days and named my first band "The stairway blues band". I had to deal with occasional rats, junkies, homeless, but overall I was in my own universe in them. To this day I am still a reverb junkie. My current recording studio is pretty much a dead room and I add EMT plate reverb to my stuff. Parking garages, especially the austin independent school district one, had great acoustics. This one had underground parking and I would go down to the lowest floor and get great reverb and beat the summer heat as well! I will always stop for a good natural reverb site. The problem with most good sounding places is someone will most likely tell you to move on. That is what was so great about the abandoned buildings and the austin parking garage. Old train stations like penn station are great but will be noisy with trains... Walter

Believe it or not, I love playing in my garage. I practice out there when I can, and the aluminum lining resounds really well for acoustic playing. I take my laptop out there a lot and watch Adam's tutorials while I practice. ---------- Hawkeye Kane
