UPDATE 10/6/11

Please see For Sale Page for ordering info!

Harmonica Belt Buckle - 3.75” Pewter

$25 shipped in the US (I am not sure the additional cost of shipping out of the US at this point, although that can be arranged)...the actual buckle will appear "softer" than the artist rendering and I asked to see the product before shipping.

i like the oval or rectangle.
i dont think there is any need to build up the height, which i assume they mean thickness.
if you dont have a border, it's gonna limit the size belt you use. but if they are saying the harp, itself, is an inch high, i would estimate the rectangle is about 2 inches high- that's fairly large.
all that being said- i would rather have a smaller border, maybe 1.5", and get a tad more height.

doing a swell job as point man, mike.
thanks.

another thing- can we get the harp to look less machine designed?
maybe a bit more hand-drawn?
perhaps something on the cover?
how about a couple of musical notes around the harp?

trying to think of ways to soften the design.

I'm down with the oval also, it fits the shape well with minimal negative space. I wonder if the harp could be made a bit larger so that the corners overlap the boarder a bit?

And like eharp said. the harmonica seems a bit stiff. It could be a bit more "stylized" One of the things I liked about the picture posted on the other buckle thread, showed the harmonica from an angle giving it some perspective.

And What's up with that shape on the bottom #3?

It brings a whole new meaning to what belt hole are you on!

I like kind of narrow belt buckles myself. They are less likely to get all stabby when you're sitting.

I keep getting dirty ideas for logos to put on them... 'Suck or Blow, Your Call' or 'Nearly 4 Inches of Magic Dick' or 'Yes, that is a Harmonica in my Pocket' or 'Long Live the 3 Hole'. But I'm just dirty minded like that.

I like the idea of having no borders, just the harp. Why can't they make the harp alone 1,5-2 inches high and loose the borders?

I'm cool with a modern design, as I play mostly techno-metal. Nothing against old timey look either, as I believe most of us would like that better. I'm cool with that.

Oval is the best from these 3. But like I said, I'd prefer my harp with an extra inch (don't we all).

I guess it's impossible to have this conversation without distasteful innuendos.

mojo- the length:height ratio is over 3:1
if we made the harp higher, say 2" that would put it 7" long!!

but if we could get around that somehow, it would work for me if we ditched the border.

First choice oval.
Second choice outline.

I agree that the lines of the harp could be a bit softer if possible.

I emailed the company with the concern for the harmonica not being soft enough. I also mentioned the oval option was the most popular.

I've done a horrible job keeping track of interest. I am hoping 20 would be a sufficient order? I'd rather not get stuck with a bunch of them (and the bill).

Any suggestions for the best way to collect and organize orders?

Oval for me.

Paypal would be a good way to collect funds I would think, easy to set up if you don't already have an account and easy to send money.

cheers
Greg.

are you going to be selling these? What about the place that does the t-shirts and other stuff for this site do they do belt buckles also? There are 300 to 400 people that use this site, once they see harmonica belt buckles for sale you will be swamped. 20 buckles will not even scratch the surface for orders. Will they also be available from the company making them? Just some things to consider. Hell ya, I want one or two...the old guy

Mike. When you have a final design, you might start a new thread with a picture and a price and give people a week to post wether they want one. And give information on how to pay. Make sure it is O.K. with Adam (you might toss him a buckle pro bono) I would also not mind if you rounded up the price and kept a few $ for your troubles.

Hadn't seen anything more on this. I googled harmonica belt buckle and came up with www.cowcow.com then I searched harmonica belt buckle and harmonica belt buckle M55 for like $14.99 came up. It is a chromatic. I'd still like to get a nice one with a diatonic. Any progress yet?

I am swamped this week, but next week I will formalize an order form. The company is ready to move forward with the round buckle previously decided on, but I wait until the turn of the month to move forward (due to carrying a credit card balance). I am 100% caught up on "music" bills as of tomorrow and in the black enough to cover the upfront costs incase people end up not buying it.

I am out of state for the third week in October, so in general, the timing is bad for me to get them out quickly (adding to the delay).

I suggested to her a run of 25 buckles. I am in the process of coming up with a politically correct way of signing up/prepaying through this site (at this time, I only have shared this desire and plan here) and my PayPal. I could do it through my site, but want to make this widely available here without seemingly pushing traffic to my website.

Hopefully, should more than 25 be interested, I can catch that before actually ordering and just increase the order. Out of respect for the forum and the rules on buying/selling, I will refrain from starting another thread, etc, unless granted permission.

Ordering info is no on the For Sale Page.

Please spread the word as I am sure 1.) not everyone looks at that page and 2.) my post bumped it and I sell stuff all the time, so there might even be less interest in seeing what I posted.

I'd still like one. Any idea what I should add on for shipping to Scotland. I understand however if overseas shipping is inconvenient.

Cheers
Greg.
