I just can't get it. The closest I have come is (I think) diaphragm vibrato, but it just isn't the same.
Is there any advice y'all can give me? Any tips or tricks?
P.S.- I am working my way through the Meat and Potatoes series when I have time. Thanks for all your help.

How long have you been trying? It takes a while, so patience is a virtue.
The first thing is to get voluntary contact to your epiglottis, the flap of cartilage that closes off your windpipe, preventing you from choking when you swallow.
Try opening your mouth a bit and swallowing. About half way into swallowing, your epiglottis will slam down on the opening to the windpipe. STOP HERE. Keeping your mouth open, breathe in, or at least try to. Your diaphragm is contracting, trying to pull air into the trachea, but the epiglottis is closing off the airflow.
Now release it. Repeat the above procedure until you can get a good stop and start to the airflow with your mouth open.
Then try to avoid the first swallowing motions and just open and close the epiglottis while breathing in, the "machine gun" exercise.
Now stick your harp into the airflow (your mouth). The added resistance will seem strange, but with practice (remembering to focus on your diaphragm when breathing, not on expanding your rib cage) you will get a choppy, all-or-nothing vibrato.
It took me about a month to get to this stage. The next stage, getting control over the vibrato is the hard part, at least for me and is the focus of Adam's Youtube video, in which he tells you to practice modulating the intensity/pitch, so it is more like a sine wave than square wave (my paraphrase).
Hope that helps.

when you "clear your throat", you engage muscles that are used in this vibrato. start to clear your throat and then reverse your breath direction without changing the muscle movement. This is a good place to start to understand the throat vibrato ---------- The Iceman

Agreed. I'll have to try practicing this as well. It'd be good to have another vibrato besides diaphragmic and slide. ----------

Tongue blocking is the other major thing I need to work on. Adam didn't demonstrate in his Whammer Jammer tutorial. Said it was too pornographic. LOL ----------
