Howdy y'all. I've been on the road for the past little while and I'm just catching up. Great time in Harrisburg (amazing weekly jam they've got there at Liquid 891), Brooklyn (saw lots of old friends and made new friends at Harmonica Madness), and Sleepy Hollow, NY (played in a former train station; did a train song as the train blew by).

This Thursday, from 3 to 4 PM, Bill Wax is letting me guest-DJ on Bluesville (SiriusXM Channel 70). I'll be playing a bunch of great blues harmonica cuts, classic and contemporary, and talking about why I think they're important. I'll also be playing live in the studio--I'll be taping earlier that day--but I don't know when he'll be airing that stuff.

Congratulations again to Brandon Bailey for his appearance on NPR's "Weekend Edition" and for the whoosh-like ascent of MEMPHIS GROOVES, his debut album on the Modern Blues Harmonica label, which currently sits at #2 on the iTunes blues chart, squeezed on either side by two different version of the just-released Keb' Mo' album. He will always be able to say that his first album reached #1 on the iTunes blues chart--it sat there all day yesterday--and that is a nice thing to be able to say.

I didn't know Brandons hit #1 on iTunes. Nice job!

Is there a way to listen to this Bluesville episode online? Anyone know of a website?
