Great interview and great playing! Dr. Gussow's YT view count will go up for sure.

Appreciate you teaching me the percussive mouth licks at HCH. Fun stuff!

Isn't the head research guy over at Turboharp a artificial heart designer in his spare time? So there is at least one other doctor/harper! You'll need to give out harmonicas instead of lollipops. It's a much healthier option. :)

A non-harmonica friend sent me the link and I came to this forum hoping to be the first to post it. Damn.

GREAT STUFF, Brandon. A triumph, richly deserved. I'm sure you've done this harp community very proud.

Miles, looking at the site, it looks like your right- Dr. Antaki is a PH.D. in Biomedical Engineering, although the research that got the company going involved a collaboration between Dr. Antaki and a Dr. Banson, who was a heart surgeon. Dr. Bahnson passed away a few years ago. He invented the Bahnson Overblow Harp, which used a slide to facilitate overblowing. From what I've read about the Bahnson the main drawback was the slide mechanism ran over the reeds and if you slid it at the wrong time you could snag a reed. They've got a magnetic slide now that looks pretty cool.

Anyway, great job Brandon! You know, Doc Bailey has a nice ring to it...

Nacoran,

that's amazing. What an Incredible life!

I would prefer his life over Little Walter's Anyday.

That is great! Well done, Brandon. You know Jon Burnett, the NPR reporter, is a great harp player. He's taken a few lessons from me over the years but he could definitely play at a pro level before he called me.

Way to go, Brandon. Wow, what an honor to be on NPR. I'm sure a whole hell of a lot of people heard you today.

We were having a cookout, and a guitar player friend started telling me about a harmonica player on NPR that went searching for a mentor in MS. I knew immediately that the piece had to be about you!

Super effing cool! I'm way proud of you, dude!

Best,

Publicity is a good thing. Your album is at this moment, the number one mp3 album on Amazon mp3s Movers and Shakers.

Excellent exposure for an upcoming talent.

Brandon will be featured at SPAh 2011 in both a seminar on beatboxing and in a featured performance. And I'm sure he'll have copies of his new Adam Gussow-produced solo CD, Memphis Grooves.

I did hear the interview. Always great to hear Brandon. He never forgets his family and talks so highly of his Mother and Grandmother. I was driving and RV thru Kansas that mourning. I'd just rode 500 miles on bicycle across Iowa. The 39th annual ride known as Ragbrai. I was headin South to Austin. Got to spend some time with Jimi Lee and he invited me to Jam with him at his Wed. nite show. Very surprised when the interview came on. I had never listened to NPR. Searching radio stations on a long drive and all of a sudden I hear Brandon's voice. Must have been the Harp Gods directing me.
