Hi all
I see that Manji reedplates are now (at last!) in stock at harmonicas direct. Not exactly cheap though at £25.95 plus p&p.

Hi Everybody,

Suzuki MANJI replacement reed plates are now available here in the USA!

Starting later this week, they will be available at Rockin' Ron's Music 4 Less (www.rockinronsmusic4less.com or 858-736-4068)...

Look for Manji reed plates at other fine retailers around America in the coming weeks.

This is good news for all you tinkerers, customizers, and do-it-your-selfers!

I've never been a fan of marine band type harps, so I'm curious about compatibility with other Suzuki models - harpmaster and promaster particularly. Do they fit? Any tinkering needed?

"Mr. Very Long User Name" (a great user name, BTW!):

The Manji reed plates will not fit on the Harpmaster or Bluesmaseter combs. Those are plastic combs, and the reed plates are recessed into the comb with a little lip around the top and bottom.

The reed profile on Manji reed plates is a little longer than that of the Promaster, but Promaster replacement reed plates are widely available and relatively inexpensive.

Harpwrench:

I've never actually tried that...good to know.

You should have no problem with reed length due to the layout of those combs...so there you go.

I put Manji reedplates, key of A, on a Bluesmaster comb and covers. It plays just fine, one of my favorite harps.

Good to know Jaybird. I know promaster reed plates will fit a bluesmaster, and a harpmaster, also a Bushman, I will get one from Rockin Ron and try it out thanks...

Like mister Spiers said , they do fit , if you go HERE , go to the bottom and you gonna find some pictures of manji plates in a harpmaster/bluesmaster/BusmanDeltafrost comb with both kind of covers. Also I have somewhere on my computer of pictures of a manji comb and plate with full covers of a Bluesmaster.
