I've seen a few requests for backing tracks, and there's one I'd like to have. I thought it might be a good idea to have a thread for backing track requests.
Here's mine. I tried to make one with midi, but I couldn't come close to capturing the essence of it. What I would like is a karaoke version of this particular version, if someone knows how to remove vocals. I tried that, too. No luck.
I used to do a careless love version on guitar--what key do you want? I might be able to work it out and get it posted sometime this week-end. I think I used to do it in A.
I never heard of "Another Man Done Gone" having a backing track--I thought it was just a one-man thing done like this:
This might be what you're looking for. It's from a French website where you can search and listen to up to 5 tracks of your choice without having to sign up. This version of Careless Love is around 1min 30secs and is a quality piano backing track.
@ oldwailer Would like to hear your guitar version
You know what could sound ultra badass on harp? At least if a really good player could get a good handle on it - Manoir des Mes Reves - the old Django song. I was looking all over for a backing track the other night but couldn't find one for that tune.
If you blues guys are looking for a wide choice of general blues style backing tracks, Jerry Portnoy is developing a web presence with his "Harp Junction" site, which includes a backing track page with many mp3's. The format of this site is such that you can even request what you might like that doesn't already appear. Along with this feature, there are a structured series of lessons available along with a forum and Jerry's weekly blog, in which he takes an aspect of blues harmonica playing and/or an artist and analyzes what is going on with a slow methodical break down of the concepts.
This site was running an Alpha test for a month and is getting ready for its Beta phase, opening it up more to the general harmonica public. Well worth checking into.

gene - I think the scratch my back clip might be to a different song to the one I am looking for, but thanks for the input.
greyowlphotoart - That's a good verson of careless love, it is a litle short but I might try to loop it.
oldwailer - I usualy play along with Walter Horton's verson in the key of E, but if you can do a verson in A I will try it with my D & Lo D harps. It would be appreciated if you could do a version for me.

I know with vocals it's possible to take them out of a song, but that's because they are recorded right down the middle. You do some mirroring and a couple other things with noise reduction and you can take them right out and you can sing over the original. I don't know if it's possible to do that with harp tracks though, since they aren't centered in the mix.
@ Greyowl - Thanks, that's a good website, there were some beautiful takes on Manoir des Mes Reves over there but I'm looking for something more like the Jamey Aebersold treatment where you get just the rhythm section playing the chords. A guitar duo could also make a beautiful backing track for that tune.
A few days ago there was this request for a back-track to "Careless Love"--a song I used to do on guitar--so I offered to do a version of it. Well--here it is--a noisy recording, but it has lots of space for harp and a little steel and electric guitar by me--I hope somebody likes it cuz it took me a lot longer to re-learn the tune than I thought it would. The Key Is D...
