... or, who's the best white overblower?
Just kidding, but I do have a topic:
Harmonicas shouldn't bend either.
I know of no evidence that harmonicas were designed to bend,
much less overblow.
Anybody have any history on this?

They weren't designed to overblow or bend. It was just a happy accident of complex aerodynamics and physics. They originally were designed to play German Umpa music, which they still do admirably in first position. People figured out the bends later. I think I read about it on Pat Missin's site (and some posts by Dave Payne).

Thanks, I'll look for Missan's site. That is what I've heard before
but I've always wanted something definative.
It's so crazy that the physics just "work out" that
I'd be prepared to accept it as divine intervention.
