Many of you know of Bonny B., the Cambodian-born harp player from Switzerland, but some of you don't. If you don't, you should. Here's a video that exemplifies his superb singing and playing. I don't use the word "superb" very often, but this is great stuff. No pretense, nothing unneeded, just solid, honest, feelingful, lowdown blues with a memorable sound and groove:
Superb fits. Your post heading fits also. Don't know how a Cambodian born harp player from Switzerland can come so close to Muddy's vocals. And know, I didn't know anything about Bonny B before now. Thanks for sharing, Adam. ---------- Ricky B www.bushdogblues.blogspot.com

He was my first real harmonica teacher. Bonny is a traditionalist harp player. I mean he doesn't use overblows and because of his hard childhood in the 70's in Cambodia, he defends traditional black culture. He is a small guy with a huge heart. 2 years ago, he played for 24 hours non-stop. He has build a School in his village in Cambodia with the help of money he got from this performance.
He recently did an album called "Back to the Bottom" with Bob Margolin. He his the owner of two small blues club where excellent musicians from many parts of the world come and play.
He is a real bluesman and I'm happy that he lives in my country.
Here is a video with his brother guitarist:
