Hey all,
In listing to people play, blues harp seems prone to cliches. I was wondering what you all think the biggest cliches are.

I will start, held handshake or headshake warble with two draw notes into a bend (2,3 3,4 or 4,5)

1 draw, 1draw bend, 1 blow walkdown like butterfield in driftin

high blow bend on the 10 or 9

deep throat vibrato on 2 or 3 draw

at the end of a song, where the guitars flail at a chord, rapidly moving the harp back and forth while playing an open draw pucker.

and..

At the end of the day there's nothing wrong with a good cliche.

I don't know about Cliches but some of those terms could have come straight from a porn mag. Deep throat vibrato sounds like a service a prostitute might offer along with a high end blow bend.Rapidly moving back and forth while playing an open draw pucker....hmm I've done that a few times.

The Sonny boy Lick=4draw, 4blow, 3'draw over and over and over again. While being slightly out of rhythm and completey catching the band by surprise. ........I am guilty of this and all the above mentioned cliches.
