Who is the best of the best when it comes to folk harmonica??

I would guess that Rory McLeod is up there, are there any other folk harmonica players at that sort of level?

Hey Ryan,
Brendan Power has done a great Irish tradational album that's really worth a listen.
Its called New Irish harmonica and you can listen to some of the tracks at his website...

http://www.brendan-power.com/

Just click on that Album title on the left hand side of the page and click on the individual tracks when they come up. Best track to my mind is track number 2,
The Jolly Beggerman.

Very large field of choices & it all depends on what one defines as being Folk. But undoubtedly to my mind Buddy Greene is way up there amongst the best.

Have a look at this Guy he has 17 videos on Youtube and he has to be up there with the best of folk/traditional players. I think he comes across as a 'national treasure'. He has probably learnt & played more tunes than all members of this forum.

Oisin, I have Brendan's New Irish harmonica CD, but it is not what I think of when I think of folk music, I would describe it as traditional.

Aussiesucker, your right when you talking about folk been a large field of choices, I have my own ideas of what I think folk music is. I will check out Sam Hinton and more of Buddy Greene's stuff.
