Yeah Ant, I just saw these vids too. I'm super pumped for these to come out. Remember your "low harp shuffle" vid? I bet that would sound WICKED on a double low F! :)

That would be cool Isaac.

I havn't played my low D for a while. I did get a Low F last Xmas which i play a fair bit, mainly because i can get all the bends on the Low F.

I bet the double low F would sound sweet plus my cats would like me better:o)

Another harp to add to the wish list that never ends.

NEW Hohner “Thunderbird” harps!
I have been playing some of the brand-new HOHNER Thunderbird harps recently…and why yes, that IS yours truly on the side of the box!! My man Joe Filisko is on the top of the box, who has designed the coverplates for this model, which are similar to the coverplates on the custom low-tuned harps I had Joe start making for me years ago. Stay tuned for more info soon…

In my opinion, these blow the socks off of the low Seydels. At least my low C prototype does. It seems that these are gonna be great!

I gotta get one of those--then I could use the low C 12-holer I have for a shop hammer. . .

The new Thunderbird harp is a new model of low-tuned harmonicas, starting at Low F and also available in Low E, Low Eb, Low D, Low C, Low Bb, Low A, Low G, and Low Low F. I have been playing custom-made low-tuned harps for years in a blues & jump blues context and pioneering a new way to play these harp aside from the rhythmic/chugging style that has mainly been used by blues players on low-tuned harps. It’s great to finally have a real nice low-tuned harp that plays well out of the box. And NO, I am not being paid for this, I honestly play Hohners and feel this is a great harp. I have stayed with Hohner since my start because they make great harps and are now continuing to push forward with great new products like the Thunderbird.

It costs $160AUD?! That's (approx.)$170.64USD. That's insane. If that's going to be the price, I guess I won't be getting a few of these like I had planned.

For that price, I would expect Mr. Filisko to be personally working on every single one of these before they're sold. I really hope that price is an over exagerated rumor.

@ REM

Like I said dude - I just heard that from a friend who is over in Germany at the moment - I have no idea if thats the OFFICIAL price. Im still waiting on confirmation from him about it but I hear anything - I'll keep you posted.

***EDIT***

I just got a confirmation from a friend in Germany - seems theyre already for sale over there - looking round 130-160AUS after the exchange rate - Not sure if thats an OFFICIAL price however.

They are already out in Europe, price 80 euros with Vat ( sales tax) included , without Vat are priced 66 euros , factoring in that the harps are always cheaper in US , I would say that they will not cost more than $100 . I mean the super low seydel's are $80 .

well yes... you can configure it.
A standard low low F favorite will cost $69 too.

Keep in mind: if you're ordering a superlow solist config, ask (in the order comments) for favorite low covers or 1847 low covers - otherwise you will get nothing but rattling!!

My local music shop had the hohner catalogue with the gide price of £56 which is the same price as a marine band deluxe here in the Uk.

I don't know officially, but from what I've seen, it seems they'll be right around $100. I did check on availability when ordering some other harps through Hohner and there was no official update.

It would seems stocking them and producing them quickly is what is slowing them down.
