Thought I should share this busking moment with you all.

Hopefully my embedding works better than the one on Tooka's thread.

Fantastic!!!!

You know what is funny, the picture shows a clear "Upskirt" of the passerby.

Great stuff man! If you can do me a favor and embed this under a certain thread,

http://www.modernbluesharmonica.com/board/board_topic/5560960/774123.htm

I would appreciate it.

By the way, what kind of amp and setup are you using?

Thanks Miles. Camera was on a gorillapod tripod (hence the low angle, unintentional). The amp is a Crate TX50DB (my busking partner's).
Shure SM-58 mic, no particular effects. I am a n008 at all the techie stuff. My partner does all the twiddling of the knobs.

Will embed it on the other thread as well.

Cheers

Thanks Geordie.
Most of the time people just walk on by; moments like this make it worthwhile.
This is Sydney (Australia). And no, I am not related to UncleW, I mean oldwailer. :)

I think I'm going to embed that video on a page of this website. Maybe "What Level Are You". It distills the romance of busking in a unique way. Carry on, boys!

Where exactly did this busking apocalypse take place?

Never mind: I googled "Martin Place" and Sydney came up.

The epitome of busking? Sure. Good stuff.
And I like when the girl says "We've obviously had too much to drink, but that's ok" at about 2:01 in the video.
Alcohol: the social lubricant.

And, BTW, what an honor to make Adam's "Why Blues Harmonica" page on this website. Kudos.

Your video is an inspiration!

Thanks every one; I am blown away! I like to think that what I lack in skill I make up for in enthusiasm. BTW yes, each lady made a cash donation.

To Adam, very special thanks from the bottom of my heart. I have learned so much from your videos and this forum and am honoured to be featured here.

All you guys out there, if you haven't, go to a jam, make friends with a guitar player, get on the streets and have a crack. I am SOOOOO glad that I did.
Can't wait to get back on the streets!
Cheers

That was awesome! I've got to remember to bring my cam (and use it) next time I go out on the street! By the way, you must've done your research because that seemed like and EXCELLENT place for busking! For many many reasons! Well done! (and you sounded great too! ;) )

Thanks for the kind comments. I just got a new camera for my birthday; that was its first outing.
There were some drunk guys 'dancing' around later. Glad I didn't have the camera on a proper tripod because they would certainly have knocked it over.
My partner had been playing solo for seven months; he did all the research. Martin Place is normally pretty good for busking; we actually didn't make much money that night. Such is the nature of the beast. And the rangers tried to crack down on us; but we are fully licenced.

I should add: my intent is not to manifest sexism, but to celebrate the enduring spirit of the blues. This forum has a few female members, and if they object to my foregrounding of the video and/or tell me that it will alienate prospective female customers, I'll take it down, along with the page I've put it on. I view the "pretty girls dancing," as I've phrased it, as sexual subjects more than objects: they're clearly getting into their OWN response to the music's call, and that's a good thing. I'm going to change the word "girls" to "women," though. My bad.

@ BronzeWailer,.
great video & jammin,..
I think the women dancin is the Best,. as their just having a good time !

As for the "shooting video up somebody's skirt"
I think if you edit your video thumbnail in youtube to a still picture that represent your video,. not showning the women in your above video everything will be fine .
You'll have to edit an re post here once you've made the change ,.I believe ??

Jeez, now I'm regretting my remark--I really meant nothing more than a lame attempt at humor--I think the video would work without the ladies--but they're having so much fun it just adds to the whole thing.

IMHO, it would be a terrible miscarriage of political correctness, real or imagined, to remove the video from its page--I would like to see a whole lot more of that quality of material here.

I truly apologize for any misunderstanding of my intent with that post--I am not a sexist. . .

LOL, oh lordy what times we live in everyone is so afraid of giving offence, but there should be no call for concern, you can tell from the vibe of the thing that the intent is nothing other than musical, the tipsy ladies are having a ball,Bronzewailer is having a ball and the camera angle is a happy accident, the fact that one of the dancers has a great pair of pins and CHOOSES to wear a teeny weeny little skirt to show em off should'nt make anyone of us worry about being sexist for appreciating them, it's all good!

Hi guys. I certainly did not intend to shoot video up anyone's skirt. I appreciate that you are not a sexist, oldwailer, and comments were made in jest.
Still, I found myself in a moral quandry.
1. The young ladies in question were not necessarily aware they were being filmed.
2. People in other forums (Facebook) have mentioned the skirt thing.
Someone posted an article on my Facebook wall about some dude getting arrested for using his phone (you get the idea).
Unfortunately, the video has the potential to attract sleazy attention/commentary, not just light-hearted jesting. I hate to think how the young women in the video would feel were they subject to such attention.
I have thought long and hard about this over the past 24 hours.
Perhaps I was too hasty in posting the darn thing in the first place.
The end result is I have recut the video, so there is no question of any 'upskirt' content, while trying to maintain the spirit of musical fun. I am pulling the other off YouTube despite a pleasing amount of interest.

New vid below.

Very cool stuff and congrats on getting those ladies dancin' in the street, Bronze, but you're wrong about one thing:it's ALWAYS about the ladies. Don't take my word for it, ask them. ;-D

Thanks guys, for all the feedback. I will repeat it; I am SO glad I started busking. In addition to fun moments of audience participation, it really is good practice. It is cooling down here, but the weather should be just about right for you northern hemisphere types...
