I don't want to be mean but, he sounds like he's playing a totally different song in a totally different groove than the band in the 2nd video! Wow... I think Popper's got him beat by a mile anyway.
Making Fast sounds isn't the same as "Playing" fast. "Playing" suggest something musical and musically appropriate to be enjoyed by a listener. It is a shame he did this publicly.

I bet he could play even faster if he jumped out of an airplane with the world's smallest parachute... that would probably break a few world records...
I'm not sure if you guys realize this, but his boast and "performance" was intended to produce precisely the kind of irritable blowback that you guys are giving him. He'd be chuckling at this thread. He's satirizing a subculture filled with grumbling experts who know what REAL fast harmonica playing sounds like.
Guinness recognizes me as the world's slowest harmonica player, the only problem was I was playing as fast as I could.
Does anyone else think he looks like Kevin Millar (baseball player)? They are probably related because they are both crazy.
I think its kinda cool though. He is obviously not serious about it. He use to be a comedian. Now he is probably laughing his ass off at all of us for getting pissed about it.
Mr Shane blows/draws, doesn't play at all. I don't like this kind of playing (without feelings, "musical story" and logical idea). For me the fastest is Howrad Levy, but speed is only tool to make a music, feelings and emotions. Just for the record, I am not upset with this guy about trying to be funny or for claiming to be the fastest harmonica player in the world, but it does upset me a little to see the harmonica represented in this way, or used to help make a joke. Too many people already disregard the harmonica as a real instrument, and publicity like this puts it in a bad light. Just my opinion... but I didn't lose sleep over it or anything.

@kudzo and todd you know you are both right the guy can play faster than me but there are many in this forum who could leave him standing still thats the reason the guys are joking about it as it is a joke that the mans holds the title as the worlds fastest harp player
