I just got this email from Bends.
and sadly that bends announces that had ended their activities in the month of April, but leaves the market with sure built a history of upward movement the culture of the bagpipes, the pipers and music as a whole. We thank everyone who made the realization of that dream were possible. We reaffirm here our wish that the music is more present in the minds and hearts of people.

That is sad news.
Although i recieved my Bends harp really quickly i don't think i would have paid the full price for it.
The case was very nice along with the key stickers but the playability of the Juke harp i got wasn't great. It was worth the sale price but i wouldn't have got any more and i don't think it was worth the full price of £37.
I don't want to people to think it was a terrible harp,i've had alot worse from Hohner but their not my cup of tea.
My Seydel Solist pro's are a much better build and £5 cheaper.
It's still sad news when a harp company goes under:o( ----------

Well, I went for the Tonica 64 chromatic and it looks and plays beautifully. It's very light and for a chromatic it is quite airtight. I'm loving the teflon coated slide and it has a wonderful, slightly dark tone which I like.
I'm not really a big chrom player, but this will make practising more fun. I like it better than my CX12.
It's a real shame that Bends won't be around anymore

They went the usual cycle of business of 5 years and that's the make or break period for all businesses. For any new company, just getting the necessary start up capitol is a bitch by itself, and then making it become profitable by the time the 5th year comes along is even tougher and if you don't have any financial or marketing muscle, that's gonna kill you every time. ---------- Sincerely, Barbeque Bob Maglinte Boston, MA http://www.barbequebob.com CD available at http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/bbmaglinte
