Did anyone else listen to the Alice Cooper Celebrity Playlist podcast just released on iTunes? In that podcast, various celebs play songs that mean a lot to them, that they listened to growing up, etc.

Alice Cooper's pick for best live band of all time? The Paul Butterfield Blues Band! Alice: "You had two guitar players, Mike Bloomfield and Elvin Bishop. I challenge you to find two better guitar players in the world. And then on top of it, you have Paul Butterfield -- maybe the best harmonica player of all time, best harp player. This stuff was done live in the studio, usually in one or two takes."

I'm not sure I buy the PBBB as best live band of all time, but it's pretty damn cool to hear Butter and the guys getting some respect like that from outside the blues nerd circles.

Yep, Elvin played on the first three albums I believe. Fantastic player. Love me some Bloomfield BIG time. Cool Alice Cooper like them!

Alice has good taste. One other thing I found interesting about him is that he's been married to the same gal for 29 years. He says his advice to other rockers if they want a happy long marriage was to, "stop marrying ex-strippers"!

Good advice.

as a general rule, i don't think anyone should marry their ex, stripper or no. they quit 'em for a reason.

the first butter album had not only bloomfield and bishop, but howlin' wolfs rhythm section. jerome arnold on bass(brother of billy boy arnold from bo diddley. jerome went on to become a cop in SF)and sam lay on drums.
alice has taste and he was there to hear and see it all himself.
