Folks,
I am driving down and back to Hill Country Harmonica from Boston, plans are flexible at this point, but if I get some riders/drivers we could do it in one long haul (with pickups and rest stops, probably 26 hours), or we could arrive less wired if we do it in two days. If I use the family van I'll have five empty seats, if I have to rent something I could get a van. In any case, having some travel partners from New England, NYC, Philly, Washington DC, etc. on the way to Mississippi would be cheaper (we'll just pro-rate your part of the trip), easier (if you can drive part of the way), and also more fun. This is still just a thought, but drop me an email at snyder@bu.edu if you are interested. By the way, I'm the "Gussow YouTube Tabbing Expert" that will give one of the breakout sessions.

sounds like a bonus tabbing seminar could be had. that would make the trip seem faster.

Snyder, sounds like fun, I wonder how many people from the Boston area are going? Personally I can't hack loooong drives anymore, too many cross country drives in recent years. If I decide to go to HCH I am gonna have to fly I'm afraid, much as I hate the current security hassles.

I would have come if this message had been posted about 2 months ago. I booked my plane ticket ASAP. I also know two guys from Worcester that are going too, but I believe they will be flying.
Sounds like a fun road trip is in the works, hope to see all of you down in Waterford!

I'm 1/2 hour north of Boston. Would've loved to meet and do a road trip with some of the boys, but I'm obligated to a trip the following week. Can't swing the extra time away, or the dough. Sigh, maybe next year? Hope you all have a great time!

I hear Ya OlD Dog. I'm 1/2 south of Boston and I'd love to go, but can only take vacation time away from work from November to March.

OT: with so many harpoonists from the Mass/New England area - we really NEED a harp club!
i was attempting to start one with annie raines last year but it fizzled out - maybe someone else wants to help take charge and run with it??

Yeah Barry I was in the Music City Blues Society when I lived in Nashville. I looked into the New England Blues Society, but couldn't get any info. I guess New England means Boston?

Barry, I tried starting something in the Albany, NY area. There used to be one. I posted something on Craigslist and found someone who wanted to learn, (I'm trading him for drum lessons) but that was it. My car doesn't run very well though. :(
It would be nice to have an early warning system for good harp shows in the region. (Have you put a pin in the map?)

@Barry: I haven't got time to get involved with organizing, etc. but I live in Central Ma. (north of Worcester) and would be interested in being a member.

Ok fellow New Englanders,
I'm compiling a list of those interested in a harp club. At least that's a first step. My email's in my profile - feel free to email me your contact info.
