I was goint to suggest it was a youtube problem but as you say "or anywhere else" then I guess not.
But while we are on the subject, I have noticed that from time to time when i'm watching YT vids there will be a problem with the vids not streaming fast enough to stay ahead of the playing, which will shut the song down in the middle of playing. Really annoying.
Now, as YT is free, I guess I've go no right to complain. Then again google bought them for $1.5 billion. You'd think that they'd figure out the peak usage problem (at least that's what I assumed it to be..I suppose it could be my broadband provider, but they are huge and I notice no other problems with other pages loading slow etc.).
Anybody else have this prob. w/ YT from time to time???
It's really kind of fascinating..on the one hand I never would have imagined even just 10-15 years ago, that today, you'd be able to pull up virtually any song you wanted, have multiple choices of video versions you could watch, many with stereo quality sound, all essentially for free. And yet, while listening to a playlist suddenly a song cuts out because the stream can't stay ahead of the playing. A WOW!! and WTF!! moment combined. Ain't technology amazin'!!!!

Eharp's advice is a good start. One thing I've heard with YouTube vids is that it's not always the bandwidth, but sometimes it's the servers. When someone requests a video a hard drive spins up somewhere in Google land. If it's a video they expect lots of people to be accessing they've probably already pushed it out to local nodes, where you can download it quickly. If it's something more obscure it may be sitting deep on a server several states away... so Poker Face loads quickly but a rare Muddy Waters track may take forever. There is no justice in the world. :)
