I really like you harp playing on this one but I would stay away from the high end stuff on this one, like the 7 draw. The major third just doesn't fit over a minor 7 chord - you could always use a retuned harp with a flatted 7 draw. You seem to have a good "feel" for your music and I like your harp licks. Vocals aren't bad either.
EDIT: Nice job controlling your half step bend on 3 draw, and nice overall tone too.
Hmm... after a 2nd listen, I guess you really didn't hit the 7 draw after all.

Much Much better! When you get a hook lick stay with it giving it slight variations. You got away from it a couple times and you started playing a second hook line a couple times. I think if you stay with the original thought and always work of that the whole thing will be more cohesive! You worked your way up to the top and kind of got lost! No problem. When that happens just go down to around hole 4 and slide up while drawing in to 9 draw and play 9D 8B 8D 7B 7D 6B 5D 4D 4B 3D 3D* 2D. Thats a bail out I used that works pretty good and people will think you meant to do it! All in all much better. Nice tone as Todd said. Now you have to do some nasty attacking harp to JUST a rapper and you! Thats where you'll have to settle in to being the rythem section and solo when he takes a break! Word!
Toxic the last song on the CD "Stand" Its a G harp in second nothing fancy other than the way I attack the notes. Its a percussive funk type thing. I think that feel would work well with some Hip Hop. You know there is a Satan and Adam song that has a good hook lick that would work well in that setting. Hell there is probably more than one. I'll get back to ya on that one. I listen to them this weekend and let you know.
ok got ya i thought that it was the last song too. i c what u mean. i llike the way u "attack" the harp in the process of trying to figure out what you had ment, i found a few other sounds that would sound like a percussion ill post em when i get a chance
Hey toxic, I could spin you a yarn and say it's just up the yellow brick road, but it's actually quite a sizeable island/continent in the southern hemisphere where we walk and talk a 'bit' like you guys!!! (you know, where men are blokes and women are sheilas!)
i like the part at 1:50. thanks stevelegh. thats exactly what im trying to do is like a 80's 90's feel to it. all my music will be from these era's im working on another should be out in a few days.
Another good one. YEah, late 80's early 90's vibe for sure. The MC was MUCH better on this one, and his rap fit well in the context of the song and your harp playing. I'm gonna stick with my same comment about what happens when you go up high, but you are clearly working on that... REALLY great hook. very catchy and fits well with this type of music. All in all, this is excellent work, and I'm really looking forward to your next tracks! ---------- == I S A A C ==
I think you did a fine job playing those high notes,I just don't think those notes right after 1:56 fit in as well. I loved 1:18-1:36 and 1:50-1:56. The whole thing was very good music. Singing was very good also.
Hey toxic, I'm diggin. I'd echo Todd's sentiment. Something to try - over dub your vocals - sing it twice, matching your rhythms and diction EXACTLY instead of saturating your voice with chourus fx. It produces a similar but more familiar sound. Give it a shot.
