Just got back from an incredible week in New Orleans. Spent a little time with Jason and he graciously had my onstage at Cafe Negril for a few numbers. This is a brief snippet. I'll be posting a few of his complete numbers on youtube soon. He had my jaw on the floor most of the night. Impressed the heck out of my whole family. Hellhounds may be sniping at his heels but he keeps running toward the blues. He is the real deal.

Todd -we'll have to connect next time I'm in town.

Fun! It looks like you had him against the ropes and sweating it... and you let him off easy. : )

What a memory...

Bonedog! I am soooo jealous!
I've said it before, but to really appreciate the blues virtuoso Jason is, you've got to see him live.

I hope those that have not seen Jason perform live make it to Hill Country. Can't wait!

@Joch- yeah I decided I'd be kind and cut him a break -very funny!
He could have sliced, diced, pureed and spread me on toast for a blues bruschetta - but was a sweetheart instead.

He was sweating alright though. "Take it easy" is not in his vocabulary.
The band played all night without one break ! - never seen that before.
They did rotate in some other great players from around town (and me) for a couple of songs - but that was it. John Lisi never left the stage.

Sorry I missed you! John is usually very accomodating with other players, at his jams anyway. At his gigs he maintains control-sombody's gotta.

hey Bonedog, a lot of players would not have been able to take that immense prescence on stage as you did, and I do not mean physical, because Jason looks like he could do with a bit of bulking up quite frankly.

You held your own, and it doesen't get tougher than that!!

@Todd-This was actually a John Lisi Delta Funk gig. Jason introduced me to John and they both encouraged me to sit in.

@harmonicanick - thanks, I had done two numbers earlier without Jason onstage (though following him was not exactly a piece of cake) -so I was a little warmed up. Still I stayed way in my 'comfort zone'. Basic blues played in cross harp and I barely went above hole 5 !
- but yeah- I explained to my facebook friends that if you where a guitar player, this would be like sitting in with Stevie Ray Vaughan or Jeff Beck. - I wasn't really worthy- but had a heck of a time anyway.

cute Barry - thanks. I also watched the first mardi gras parade that week- it had a Krewe du Mishigas float - you would have dug it.
