I happened to be listening to my new digital radio on Saturday afternoon & on ABC Radio National was a program called 'The Humble Harp'. It was an hour long documentary covering the history of the harmonica in Australia from it's beginnings up to present day.

The program can be listened to now on audio streaming from this site:-

Alternatively if you live in Oz the program called "Into The Music" is again repeated next Friday at 3pm on Radio National.

I enjoyed the program very much.

Thanks AS. Great to hear some of my favs. Love Brod Smith's work, particularly in Backsliders. Mike Rudd, Jim Conway and Ian Collard have all held workshops at my place. Great guys, great harp players.
FYI, Jim C is playing at Byron this easter - with Captain Matchbox Whoopee Band. Now there's a blast from the past!

Cheers
Maka

Saw Jim yesterday with his Big Wheel band. Lots of fun. Can definitely recommend it!

Yeah Jim Conway was on TV last night on 'The Collectors' showing his large collection of vintage harps. It was a repeat special.
