So, I got my first Seydel Friday, over two years into my harp journey. I played two songs with it Saturday at the jam session, put it away, and picked it back up tonight. I've been playing it solid for two hours straight, I pause only to give my immediate opinion of the instrument. Silver, in A, Gazell method. For those of you who ever considered valved playing, but did not want to lose touch with the no valve sound? This is your baby. It is the perfect blend of power and maneuverability. If I could afford it, I would own an entire set of these bad boys. That is all ---------- Kyzer's Travels Kyzer's Artwork

A while back I bought a Seydel Blues Favorite in Paddy Richter tuning to help with learning some Irish tunes. It's a very nice harp. I later purchased some PT valves, but haven't put them on yet. Now I'm going to. Thanks for the motivational endorsement.
BTW and OT, if you haven't tried Paddy Richter tuning yet, it is great for single-note playing, because it really simplifies the bottom end of the harp. Three hole blow is raised by a tone to give you the 3 draw full-step bend note, making 1st, 3rd, 4th and 12th position melodies easier in the low octave. ----------

Thanks Adam...I like your impression of "not losing the no valve sound." I am going to be at HCH 2011 as an Artist in Residence this year and hope to have some of these models available for the festival. Looking forward to meeting a lot of you! ---------- "Life...10 Holes & 20 Reeds At A Time"
