----------And also have or have had any other harp voiced amps in which to compare it to? I'm especially interested in performance volume independent to the line out or miking before feedback with a bullet. Thanks. d myspace facebook

You and I are after the same thing, Dennis...Saving my coins. I too want to find out more about it before biting the bullet(slight pun intended). ---------- Todd my moderator username is Admin007

Rick was very helpful in comparing the Cruncher and Mission to the best of his ability and having once before owned a Mission with 1 10'' with terrific tone (I was told via the Mission website that that previous amp I owned has no relationship at all to this one) I am interested. But it can be the Holy Grail: If it doesn't speak up on stage with a full band it won't serve me well. Yet lightness and economy! I presently keep a Premier with a 15'' at one venue I play at weekly. And have a big Magnatone Clio with a 15'' too. The former I use at NYC's Sugar Bar which has a "pizza oven" like stage and the latter at clubs like NYC's Blue Note which has a more generous stage. And indeed both environments mike- but to have most or all of the organic volume I need before miking and just using the miking/lie-out for a more full bodied and disseminated sound would be my desire. My best (and good luck Todd) ---------- myspace facebook

While I am perfectly happy with my Harpgear Double Trouble which delivers a nice amount of volume and tone in a small package, I am also interested in the Mission amp. I was hoping to try one out during my next trip to Colorado, but with a recent job change, I may not get there for a while.

I would love to do a side-by-side with the Chicago and some other amps. I doubt I'm able to get to Denver anytime soon, either(I wish). A great place for this would be HCH. I don't know if anyone who is attending has one, but if you read this and you do, bring it please! I'll pitch in a few bucks for your trouble, or buy you beer.
BTW-I notice that the price did go up from the initial $999 to 1159. Still a good price for what it says it does. The 'fat' switch really interests me, as I play upper-register harps often. ---------- Todd my moderator username is Admin007

I've got one with a 12". Don't have any other "harp voiced amps" though. It's got plenty of volume. The deep switch doesn't do much with CR's or CM's but you can hear a slight difference. On a crystal it makes a difference. Cuts the highs and gives a deeper, fatter tone. Dynamics can't remember... haven't used one in a while with this amp. Both the bass and treble are very responsive. And the bass is also a full treble cut about 10 or 11. I haven't used a lot of different tubes combination's but to me it sounds best with a good set of 6v6's and a 5y3. The main reason I went with this amp was for the bass response. Much better to me than any other "harp voiced amp" I've tried or heard.

Where are you located shbamac? You don't have to give an exact location, but I was curious if you'd have a problem if anyone else wanted to try your amp out if logistics allowed? Might be closer than going to Denver.
Thanks for that review, too. I'd like the 12, and possibly a 12 and a 10, if they'd fit. ---------- Todd my moderator username is Admin007

Has anyone dealt with Mission Amps lately? I've sent 3 emails and never got a response back? Just makes me a little leary.

I'm in North Central FL. Hogtown, the land of orange and blue (rather sick if it).
Turn around wasn't bad. It took him a little longer than expected. There wasn't any communication from him but when I placed the order I let him know that it wasn't a rush and didn't expect anything on his part. I think it was about three months total. The amp was well packed and arrived safely.
Bruce is a very busy man and was hard to track down before I placed the order. But after the sale he has responded to my emails same or next day without fail. He gives more than expected detailed replies to my questions or concerns.
@bigd: Just took a look at your facebook, you kind of look you could be related to Adam...

Hmmm, a trip to DisneyWorld might be in my future...I'll have to convince the wife we have to visit 'Chicago' on the way from New Orleans to Orlando.
On the turnaround time: I never really put much thought into what is an acceptable amount of time to wait for a handbuilt amp. Maybe two, three months? Sounds reasonable, especially if someone else builds the cabinets. I did have one built for me before at a local boutique, and it was right at two months, as I recall. ---------- Todd my moderator username is Admin007

I think that two to three months is very reasonable.
If you ever happen to make it this way your more than welcome to test out the amp. Just make sure you give me enough notice so that we can work around my schedule. And agree to let me video it.
There is a very slight chance I will be going to HCH...
