After seeing Big Blind Rays youtube review on his Genesis harps, I thought I'd post a pic of MB in G I got from Randy. Corian comb, MB coverplates. Although I did hit it with my laser engraver and added "Genesis Harmonica" to it.
Now it's a custom-custom.

well, is there a difference as far as tone or durability? im just trying to figure out what the point was of using that particular material, as i had never heard of it before.

It's all about the 'cool factor' man! heh.
I suppose durability is a plus, it's tough stuff.
Sonically, tonally? I guess that can be debated ad-finitum. The Corian and opened up cover plates, it screams!
As far as overall tonality, I think I saw (on this forum) a link to a somewhat formal test at a SPAH, to a panel of experienced players, and if I recall correctly none, or a few were able to tell the difference (without looking) between stock combs and custom combs of various materials.

I like the feel of it, it's got heft, more so than plastic. It feels like an instrument, not a toy.

So I'm sure there are several camps when it comes to comb material. I'm sure some would swear by wood (specific wood) over Corian, over plastic over aluminum or brass.

I guess it's one of those YMMV deals.
